Yoga helps us get to know ourselves deeply, gifts us a valuable tool to help slow down and quiet our minds, and teaches us to develop a sense of confidence and ease in our body. Must-haves for a happy, healthy life from the inside out. Our classes are accessible and challenging for all levels (some yoga experience helps). We will flow in the morning and enjoy a chill session in the evenings. Each retreat features at least one arm balance and inversion workshop to help you get upside down for a fresh perspective on life! Taught by Nathania, classes occasionally feature guest instructors.

The 30 minute workouts are rest-based (work until you can't, rest until you can) making them individualized to all levels of fitness and made to get you great results, fast.

Gary, the co-founder of Metabolic Effect Fitness, uses a combination of bodyweight exercises, plyometrics, weight training and cardio based drills in the workouts to turn you into a fat burning machine. Get ready to sweat!

We believe in the power of adventure to bring people together, and in pushing our boundaries to discover what we're really made of. Each retreat features a different adventure (or two) depending on where we're traveling. Zip lining, muddy ATV rides, white water rafting, hiking up volcanoes to see the sunrise - we've got something exciting planned every time, and it's always optional. Not feeling it? Chill at the resort and read books, get a massage or catch up on you time.

We love to eat, and we love to eat clean, healthy, protein-rich foods even more. The resorts we pick always source local ingredients and craft incredible, fresh, and creative dishes. Menus are varied and can be tailored to any special dietary needs.

Retreat packages include 3 meals per day, fresh juices, coffee and water. There is an extra charge for alcoholic beverages or specialty coffees, billed to you by the resort at the end of each retreat.

The Retreat Team

Nathania Stambouli

Nathania Stambouli (Retreat Leader & Yoga Instructor) -  Coming from a background in fitness, Nathania stumbled into yoga by accident in 2009 and what started as a purely physical adventure became a journey towards learning to slow down, healing old wounds a experiencing profound personal transformation. Through a dedicated yoga practice and a Master’s degree in Psychology, Nat unearthed a passion for helping others believe in themselves, dare to make shifts in their lives and be unapologetically real. She believes that creating a strong mind-body connection with yoga and movement can be a powerful path to self-love and understanding. Learning to explore your limits, learning to lean into instead of away from challenging moments, learning to accept what is but to relish in the process of working for what you want - the lessons are endless and always applicable to life. Nat's classes are athletic and fluid, creatively sequenced and sprinkled with playful arm balances and transitions. Expect to be inspired and to learn to laugh at yourself. Expect to discover how your time on the mat is a mirror for your life and an invaluable tool to help you become your own best supporter. Nathania owns and operates SoulPlay Yoga in Culver City, California and has run multiple international retreats with the SoulPlay Retreats team. More >>

Gary Leake

Gary Leake (Retreat Leader, Fitness & Nutrition Nerd) - Jack of many trades, Gary began his career as a national champion bodybuilder in the 90s while simultaneously languishing away as a computer programmer and technology manager. To spice things up, he performed and ultimately went on to teach improv comedy in the 00's. He then applied his knowledge and love of training and became a founding partner of the international fitness and nutrition company Metabolic Effect, leading seminars both nationally and internationally as well as online seminars and trainings in fitness, fat loss, nutrition and mindset. During these 20-odd years, Gary discovered that these two worlds are not as unrelated as they may seem on the surface. The ability to stretch (both your mind and muscle), see perceived failures and mistakes as opportunities for success, the ability to laugh at yourself and to always be learning are just a few of the key skills that Gary imparts on his students and peers. Not only will you learn how to workout in the most effective manner for every situation you may find yourself in in life, but you will also learn how to progress and regress workouts to your needs, and learn about the power of the mind-muscle connections running through your body.

Join the Tribe

Once you come on a SoulPlay retreat, you're part of the tribe. People return year after year because there's nothing like the feeling of being part of something, especially something that's designed to help you be a better you. Sharing time with like-minded people, being active, pushing limits, supporting each other and making real connections is powerful. We love to bring people together and create moments that promote love and growth.
